Man convicted of theft, shoplifting and fraud offences in Reading, Berks

Following a Police investigation, a man has been convicted of offences including theft, shoplifting and fraud.

Kamran Latif, aged 42, of no fixed abode, was convicted at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Friday (14/8).

He pleaded guilty to five counts each of theft and fraud, and then two further counts of shoplifting.

The guilty pleas are in relation to incidents which occurred between 13 July and 13 August this year in Reading town centre.

Latif will be sentenced on 4 September at Slough Magistrates’ Court.

Investigating officer, PC Vince Moore, of Reading Police station, said: “I am pleased that Latif has pleaded guilty to these twelve offences at the first opportunity, due to the overwhelming evidence that was produced against him.

“He will now be sentenced accordingly for these crimes. The victims will now also not have to endure giving evidence at a trial.

“Thames Valley Police will always investigate these types of offences extremely seriously, and offenders such as Latif will be caught and brought to the courts to face justice.”
