Man dies after turning himself into fire ball in front of horrified shoppers

A Man dies after ‘dousing himself in petrol and setting car alight’ sparking huge explosion in front of horrified shoppers.

Emergency services attended Lower Shott car park near the High Street in Bookham on Monday afternoon after receiving a report that a man had been found with serious injuries and a car was on fire.

The man was taken to hospital via air ambulance however he sadly passed away yesterday afternoon.

The incident is likely to have had a traumatic effect on the people who witnessed it.

Police would encourage anyone who has been affected by what they saw to speak to someone they feel comfortable talking to, whether this is a friend, relative, or a medical professional.
