Man charged with non-recent sex offences in Reading

Following a Thames Valley Police investigation a man has been charged with a number of non-recent sex offences which occurred in Reading.

Roy Coxhead, aged 66, formerly of Erleigh Road, Reading, was charged with four counts of indecent assault on a boy under 16, three counts of indecent assault on a man over 16, two counts of gross indecency and two counts of attempted buggery with a boy under 16.

He has also been charged with one count each of perverting the course of justice, inciting a boy under 16 to commit an act of gross indecency, assault with intent to commit buggery, sexual assault, causing a male 13 or over to engage in penetrative sexual activity, attempted sexual assault by penetration and attempted rape.

The charges are in connection with multiple incidents that occurred between February 2002 and July 2017 in Reading.

Coxhead has been remanded in custody to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court on 27 January 2021.
