Panic buying hits Berkshire as customers form huge queues ahead of new national lockdown

Panic buying and stockpiling were seen at the branch of the  Tesco on Monday – just three days before a second lockdown hits England.

The announcement of new measures and restrictions until December 2 at the very earliest has sparked a panic buying frenzy before tougher restrictions are imposed on Thursday.

There were empty shelves as shoppers snapped up everything from loo roll to pasta yesterday, even though politicians and experts urged people not to panic buy.
