Thames Valley Police issue update after 50 year old woman was arrested in connection with robbery


Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Oxford.

It happened on Saturday 17 October between 11.15am and 12.15pm on Iffley Road by the Magdalen Arms.

The victim, a man in his eighties, was forcibly restrained by a woman who wrapped her arms around him and took a ring from his hand.

The victim was not injured.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Archie Coyne, based at Oxford police station, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident, or anyone who have information about this incident, to please get in touch.

“The ring stolen is quite distinctive. It’s gold, with a square front and has an ‘S’ engraved on it.

“I would also appeal to any motorists who were in the local area around the time that this happened, to please check any dash-cam footage in case it has captured anything significant.

UPDATE : A 50-year-old woman from Oxford was arrested in connection with this incident and has been released under investigation.
