Saleem Syed, the Managing Director of the British Mobility Project, has once again awarded another mobility scooter to one deserving person.

Mr Syed sells tickets around the town and asks people to nominate someone who they think is in need and deserving of a mobility scooter.  The only requirement being that the nominated person has to be receiving Disability Living Allowance(DLA).  The most recent recipient of the award was Tony Jones from Guildford.  A special presentation evening was held at the Godstone Inn, Surrey, (Friday, Oct 2nd) with entertainment provided by Jack Mason from the X-Factor.

On receiving his mobility scooter Tony says, “the only thing I have won on a raffle was a bottle of wine, but now I have my mobility scooter and I am very happy”.  The Scooters can cost anything from £2000, to £10,000, so certainly worth the money for a ticket.

Today (Thursday 15th October) Saleem, and Jack Mason, will be in Broad St, Reading to sell tickets and provide entertainment outside John Lewis.  Mr Syed, says “you will not be able to miss us – I am dressed as Superman along with my colleague who has come as Batman today.   Come over say hello and maybe purchase a ticket… you never know it may just change someones life in a very positive way”.

“Jack Mason from the X-Factor will also be supporting our event and he is here to perform a number of well known hits, throughout the day” Saleem said.
