Water levels in the River Blackwater are high but currently stable. In the last 48 hours, a month’s rain (80mm) has been recorded at Romsey. Further heavy rainfall is now affecting the area and it is expected to continue overnight and into tomorrow (Sunday 04/10/2020). Throughout this time, at least an additional 20 mm to 30 mm of rain is expected. From 04:00 Sunday morning (04/10/2020), water could become very high around the Mill building at Wellow. Tomorrow, out of bank flooding may also begin to affect land from Landford to Wade Bridge. Given the unsettled weather outlook over the next 24 hours, please ensure that any pumps used to protect property from flooding can operate. We’ll ensure the River Blackwater is kept free of blockages.
