Police appeal after Croydon teen Stabbing

Detectives are appealing for information after a teenager was stabbed in Croydon.

Police were called to Woodside Road, SE25 at 11.56pm on Thursday, 18 April following reports of a stabbing.

A boy, aged 16, was found with a stab injury and taken to hospital. His injuries have since been confirmed to be non-life-threatening.

Officers from the Met’s South Area CID are investigating and have identified the victim was assaulted in nearby Spring Lane as he was travelling home from a friend’s house on his bicycle.

At this stage, it is believed that four suspects travelling on two mopeds followed the victim before two passengers got off and carried out the attack.

No arrests have been made and detectives are keen to hear from anyone with information.

Detective Sergeant Danielle Power said: “This was a brutal attack and one which could have had far more serious consequences.

“While we have spoken to a number of witnesses in relation to this incident, we believe more people may have seen the mopeds in the Woodside Road area at the time and we urge them to come forward and speak to us.”
