Murder probe launched in Crowthorne

Thames Valley Police is currently in Crowthorne following the death of a man.

Officers and South Central Ambulance Service were called to Nine Mile Ride shortly after 2pm today (5/11) after an injured man was found in the road.

Emergency services provided medical treatment to the man however he died at the scene.

A scenewatch is in place in the area while officers are conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances and a murder investigation has been launched.

Detective Superintendent Ian Hunter, Head of the Major Crime unit, said: “We are in the very early stages of enquiries and have now launched a murder investigation.

“I would like to hear from anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious in Nine Mile Ride near the New Acres Caravan Site and Pineridge Park Homes at around 2pm on Monday (5/11) to contact police. If you have any details which you think may assist our investigation, please come forward and speak to officers.

“We will keep the community updated once further information is available.”
