Murder Probe launched after man assaulted in Bracknell

Thames Valley Police has launched a murder investigation following an incident in Bracknell on Tuesday (11/4).
Between 2.40am and 3.40am on Tuesday (10/4) a man was assaulted in London Road, near the Honda garage.

The victim a 42-year-old man from Bracknell, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in a life threatening condition.

The man has since died, he has been formally identified as Miroslaw Januszkiewicz from Bracknell.

A 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has now been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Andy Howard: “We continue to investigate the circumstances of this incident in which a man has sadly died.

“Mr Januszkiewicz’s next of kin have been informed and we are supporting them with the help of family liaison officers.

“We are continuing our appeal for witnesses.

“We are asking anyone who was driving along London Road on Tuesday, particularly between 2am and 3.45am who may have information or dash-cam footage to please come forward.

“Additionally I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed a man being assaulted in London Road or seen the victim lying injured to please come forward.

“A scene watch remains in place in London Road, and is likely to remain in place until tomorrow.”
