Police renew appeal for Reading Taxi Drivers to contact them following Fatal Collision in Reading

Collision Scene investigators are renewing their appeal for two Reading taxi driver who may be able to assist officers with an investigation following a fatal Collision on the IDR road in Reading on Friday night into Saturday morning.

Officers are keen to speak to the drivers who have spoken to others about seeing the woman moments before her death. One driver advised that he saw the woman walking up from Queens Road in Reading and had to swerve to avoid the woman who was waling in a live lane who had a fare onabord at the time this would of be around about 12.30-12.45 On Saturday morning.

The second driver police are keen to speak to stopped at the scene before the arrival of the emergency service and assisted with other members of the public in rendered first aid to the woman in her 40.

Investigating officer PC James Lovell, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Three Mile Cross, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw a female pedestrian in the carriageway prior to the collision.
“I would particularly like to speak to some taxi drivers who may have stopped to speak to the woman prior to the incident taking place as they may have information which could assist the investigation.”
