Police closed the Eastbound carriage way just after 3am this morning and have advised that the road is likely to be closed for some time.
Local diversion routes have been set as traffic is taken off the motorway on the eastbound section.
Due to incident screens being in place lane 3 of the westbound is closed past scene of incident. Police specialists and collision scene investigators are carrying out examination of a Iceland articulated lorry and a large section of the motorway also has marking on it. Traffic on the diverted routes is slow as is the westbound carriage way as driver slow to rubber neck at the scene. A signed diversion has been put in place.

Highways England states: “Exit at junction 11 and follow the route marked with a hollow circle symbol on local roadsigns.

“This will take traffic via the B3270 to Winnersh, then on to the A329 briefly to join the A329(M) southbound back to the M4 junction 10.”
