Fire Crews Called To Woodland Fire In Burghfield Berkshire

Thirty Fire Fighters from Royal Berkshire Fire And Rescue Service are currently battling to contain a woodland fire on the Reading Road in Burghfield this afternoon.

The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service has sent eight pumping appliances and a specialist unit from Caversham Road, Dee road, Whitley wood, Bracknell And Wokingham after reports that 30 acres of forestry is alight close to the Reading Road. Two water carrier have also been called in to help with fire fighting,

The woods are by the burial ground near Mortimer, Police have put in hard road closures on the Mortimer to Burghfield Road it has been closed at junction with St Catherine’s Hill.

A spokeswomen for Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue said ” We received a call and sent fire crews w just after 1:30pm this afternoon to the Englefield estate, a number of resources have been sent to the incident.
