Discarded old electrical items are one of the fastest growing waste streams, with over 50 million tonnes thrown away globally each year.
But did you know we do kerbside collections of old unwanted electricals? Our recycling crews will pick them up from the front of your house if displayed next to your red bin. So clear out those drawers of old cables and broken appliances! Everything with a plug, battery or cable can be recycled.
All you need to do is:
1. Bag up your electricals ready to recycle
2. Place a small carrier bag (max size 30cm x 24cm) next to your red recycling bin on your normal collection day
3. All bigger items or reusable items should be taken to the Smallmead Recycling Centres on Island Road
