Man and boy arrested in connection with incident of grievous bodily harm in Reading

Thames Valley Police have arrested a man and a boy in connection with an incident of grievous bodily harm in Reading.

Yesterday (3/9) a 20-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

A 16-year-old boy, also from Reading, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Both have been released on conditional police bail.

It is in connection with an incident that happened in Strathy Close on 9 August. One man sustained a stab wound and another man sustained head injuries caused by being hit over the head with a bottle.

They have since been discharged from hospital.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Marc Skinner, based at Reading police station said: “Officers have made further arrests in connection with this incident.

“However we would still appeal to anyone who witnessed it, or who has any information, to please come forward and speak to police.

“Alternatively you can call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, for 100% anonymity.”

Previously a 21-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, a 20-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent, and another 20-year-old man, also from Reading, was arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.

All three men were released on bail.
